Appointments

Advance appointment booking is available up to 2 weeks ahead.

Same day appointments are available for the morning clince from 08:00 and from 14:00 for afternoon clinic.

Telephone Consultations

Available to book from 10:00 Monday to Friday.

Preferences

You have a right to express a preference of practitioner and we will do our best to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. Should your preferred doctor not have a free appointment you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GPs in the practice. If you do not wish to see the offered option in case of your preferred choice not available at that time, you have the option to book the next available appointment with the practitioner of your choice.

You will never be refused to see a doctor if one is available. If you no longer need your appointment please let us know in good time. This will help other patients who may have been refused an appointment on the day.

Please remember that appointments are for one person only. If you feel your consultation may be lengthy, ask the receptionist for a double appointment when you book. We kindly request: Please do not ask for an accompanying relative to be seen within the same appointment. It is unfair on the other patients waiting outside to see the GP and equally it will lead to delay in the clinic.

Chaperone

A chaperone is a person who serves as a witness for both a patient and a medical practitioner as a safeguard for both parties during a medical examination or procedure.

If you feel like you need a chaperone during your consultation, please do not hesitate to ask at the main reception or ask the clinician at any point during the consultation.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform the practice giving as much notice as possible (Minimum 1 hr. before time of appointment) in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

CORONAVIRUS – UPDATE TO PRACTICE APPOINTMENTS

GP Appointments:

Due to increased concern regarding Coronavirus, we will be amending all GP appointments to telephone or video calls, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

If you already have an appointment booked please DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY. A clinician will contact you by telephone as close to the time of your booked appointment as possible and will advise you as to the best course of action for your clinical query.

Patients will only be seen if the GP feels a physical examination is a necessity.

Practice Nurse Appointments:

If you have an appointment booked with the Practice Nurse you will be contacted by our reception team to discuss attendance. The nurses will continue to provide a significantly reduced service for those procedures deemed absolutely necessary until further notice. As such your appointment may need to be rescheduled. Routine nursing reviews of chronic illnesses (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes) will be cancelled until further notice.

These measures are being taken to reduce the infection risk to our patients and our staff. If you are told to come in for an examination or procedure by the triaging clinician, but develop symptoms consistent with coronavirus (fever, new cough, shortness of breath) please DO NOT ATTEND your appointment but ring reception for further advice. All accompanying persons should wait in their personal car if possible.

Repeat prescriptions:

These can be ordered via our telephone number or online as currently happens, but we would request that patients inform us of their preferred or designated pharmacy so that prescriptions can be forwarded directly there for collection rather than for pickup at the surgery. Alternatively you can ask your pharmacist regarding the CMS system if you are on long-term stable medications.

Medical Certificates and Letter Requests:

We are encouraging email of medical certificates rather than collection from the surgery.

Online Appointment Booking:

Due to Coronavirus risks we have suspended all online bookings. The online system does not triage patients, which is an important part of risk assessment. Please call the surgery to discuss your clinical query. Online repeat prescriptions are not affected.
